Dr Mupanemunda has always been very friendly with our son when he’s arrived and made him and ourselves feel very comfortable in his presence. Attention to detail on his ability to communicate with child by tone of voice, building rapport, interacting in a playful way, and including other staff members on the ward with our son has allowed him to feel very comfortable being on this environment. When we’ve had a consultation and a scan hasn’t taken place when it should have he has dealt with the booking immediately and directly to ensure it is either dealt with or at least to be dealt with in the near future. Clearly experienced when assessing areas of concerns on our son and will explain with clarity and honesty regarding potential actions going forwards e.g. dilation in the kidney if it begins to grow as he gets older may require operation. Not news anyone would want to hear, but gives us realistic expectations and implications should an issue become worse. Luckily this doesn’t seem to be the case for our little one. A role model for upcoming doctors and paediatric doctors and we would like to send our thanks for his excellent service. Look forward to seeing him again (hopefully) when we plan our next child in the future.

The doctor explainsed everything in a way that enabled me to understand what is happening with my daughter's medical condition. The doctor answered all my questions. He addressed my concerns. He was fantastic with developing trust and rapport with my daughter during the appointment.

We were lucky to receive Richard's specialist care for our son who was born prematurely at 31 weeks. Richard was the most kind and caring doctor we came into contact with during out time at special care and afterwards in an outpatient clinic. Richard was extremely gentle and thorough with our son, taking his time to listen to us as and even making small gestures such as washing dummies and changing nappies which other consultants would not do. On more than one occasion Richard went out of his way to conduct scans/x rays on our little boy to investigate his health issues, and took time to communicate with us personally. Richard is extremely personable, took time to get to know us as parents and shared his humour with us which kept our morale during a difficult time. We will be forever grateful for his care.

He was lovely with the baby and took time to play with him. He answered all my questions and I didn’t feel rushed. He has a lovely manner and I really can’t offer any areas for improvement
